German bicycle manufacturer DKW built a small engine to use for motorized bicycles. After DKW merged with Audi, Horch and Wanderer Werke, Auto Union AG was born, joining the ranks in the European racing circuit.
The German automaker maintained a low profile until the Audi marque was brought back to life in 1970. Audi unveiled their Quattro all-wheel drive design in 1980 and has continued to impress the automotive world. Most recently, Audi wowed both enthusiasts and fellow automakers alike with the 2000 TT roadster.
