BMW

The Bavarian Motor Works was founded 1916 as a factory for aircraft engines. BMW branched out to motorcycles in 1923, and in 1928, BMW bought a car factory. By the mid-30s, BMW had become a feared competitor in auto racing in Europe.
BMW evolved from a sports car company to produce sedans and compact touring cars. The late 70s recognized BMW as a leader in engineering quality and performance.
BMW's current product line includes the 3-Series coupe, the 5-Series sedan, the 7-Series, the Z8 roadster and the X5 sport utility vehicle.
