In 2001, Ford has made the popular Explorer SUV available in thirteen different variations. There are
2WD and 4WD versions, Limited and Eddie Bauers, XLS and XLT models, 2-door and 4-door.
All feature the standard safety equipment: anti-lock braking, child safety locks and dual airbags.
Standard on all Explorer variations is a 4.0 liter, V8 engine that has 205 or 210 horsepower, depending on the
trim.
Each model of Explorer also features power windows, door locks and mirrors, air conditioning, intermittent wipers,
tinted glass and a liftgate with a flip-open rear window.
Upgrade to the Limited or Eddie Bauer models and you will receive automatic temperature control, running boards,
steering wheel controls, a 290-watt MACH audio system with cassette and CD and leather seats.
The new Explorer Sport Trac comes in two trims: a 2WD and a 4WD. This versatile "sport utility truck" comes with
a 4.0 liter 205 horsepower V6 engine, as well as amenities such as air conditioning, roof rails, dual airbags,
an anti-lock braking system and an AM/FM stereo with CD.
