    Lotus has been known for making some of the most exotic sports cars in the world, a trend that dates back to 1948. And the Lotus Esprit is no exception.

    It was in 1948 that Colin Chapman manufactured the first Lotus model in a garage in London. He then started Lotus Cars Limited in 1955.

    Though the company began by making only racing vehicles, it branched out to build luxurious and exotic sports cars for the public.

    The Lotus Esprit is the current Lotus model.
